The Rip Chords

One of the biggiest 60s hot-rod group. The original duo were joined by Bruce Johnston (future Beach Boy) and Terry Melcher (future Beach Boys writer and producer). The Wrecking Crew (who would later play on The Beach Boys albums) backed them up. Their big hit was "Hey Little Cobra". For a full history, see this website.

A version of the band reformed in the 90s, consisting of two 60s touring members and others. See their entries here.
